Of all advanced ceramic materials, zirconia has the highest strength and toughness at room temperature. Zirconia balls have excellent load carrying capacity and are easy to polish to a finer surface finish. AUB Zirconia Balls are manufactured in capacities ranging from 0.5 mm to 38.1 mm.

Zirconia balls are highly resistant to corrosion, wear and repeated impact stress. In fact, they actually increase toughness at the point of impact. Zirconia balls are also incredibly hard, durable and strong. High temperatures and corrosive chemicals are no problem with zirconia balls, and they will maintain their excellent properties in temperatures up to 1800 degrees Fahrenheit.

This makes zirconia balls an excellent choice for use in many high impact and high temperature environments. Their properties make them the most durable balls for grinding and milling applications. Additionally, zirconia ceramic balls are commonly used in flow control applications such as check valves and are also popular in the medical field due to their high strength and purity.

Corrosion resistance: The material itself has corrosion resistance, and can be applied to strong acids, strong alkalis, inorganic salts and organic salts, seawater and other fields except hydrofluoric acid. It is suitable for working under harsh conditions full of corrosive media such as electroplating equipment, electronic equipment, chemical machinery, shipbuilding, and medical equipment.

High temperature resistance: ceramic bearings with cages will not expand due to temperature differences. Zirconia ceramic bearings filled with balls have an operating temperature between 300°C and 800°C, and can be used in high-temperature equipment such as blast furnace kilns, plastic and steel manufacturing equipment.

Self-lubrication: ceramic bearings have a small friction coefficient, good surface finish, and good self-lubricating properties, especially silicon nitride materials, which have excellent self-lubricating properties. Therefore, ceramic bearings do not require any grease. In a vacuum environment, the application of ceramic bearings can overcome the lubrication problems of ordinary bearings.

Anti-magnetic: Because it is non-magnetic and does not absorb dust, it can reduce the problems of premature peeling and high noise. It can be used in degaussing equipment, instruments and other fields.
Electrical insulation: Due to its high resistance, it can avoid arc damage to the bearing, and can be used in power equipment with insulation requirements.

The density of ceramic balls is lower than that of steel, and the weight is much lighter, so the centrifugal effect can be reduced by 40% when the outer ring rotates, which greatly prolongs the service life.

Ceramics are less affected by thermal expansion and contraction than steel, so the gap is constant, and the bearing can work in an environment with severe temperature differences.

The elastic modulus of ceramics is higher than that of steel, and it is not easy to deform under force. Therefore, it is beneficial to improve the working speed and achieve higher precision.
